The rules every player must follow to keep OGameXL a fair and enjoyable competitive universe.
The true owner of a game account is the owner of the email address registered to the portal account. Portal accounts cannot be transferred; however, universe accounts linked to a portal account can be transferred to another portal account by the game operators.
Each player may play with only one account per universe.
If multiple accounts need to log in from the same internet connection (IP), the game operators of the relevant universe must be notified through the Support System before those accounts log in. Whether the use of the accounts is permitted afterward is entirely at the operator's discretion. The operator may deny permission for a second account without providing any justification.
Accounts connecting from the same IP may not carry out fleet movements with each other. Any direct or indirect gain between such accounts is strictly forbidden.
If direct or indirect gain is found to have been obtained from a multi-account, the account(s) involved are permanently closed.
Account sitting is when an account is managed by another player for a certain period. Before sitting begins, the game operators must be notified through the Support System.
During the sitting period:
For sitting carried out without notifying the game operators:
Starting a battle with more than 100 espionage probes on their own is forbidden and automatically blocked by the system. Attacking with up to 100 espionage probes for the purpose of generating a debris field is allowed.
Adding espionage probes on their own to an alliance war purely to slow down the fleet is forbidden. This is automatically blocked by the system. However, espionage probes included as part of a normal attack fleet are not considered a rule violation.
Coordinated attacks against the same player by players from the same alliance or an allied alliance, carried out for 3 consecutive days for the purpose of looting, are not allowed. The purpose of this rule is not to limit warfare. Its purpose is to prevent the systematic blocking of a player's active production on their planets — that is, to prevent a group of players from organizing to harvest raw materials.
For an attack to be evaluated under this rule, the following conditions must all be met together:
A player may not send a fleet movement lasting longer than 3 hours to another player's coordinates. Long-duration fleet movements may only be used for organized operations.
To prevent the 3-hour limit from being circumvented through one or more consecutive long-duration fleet movements:
These limits are meant to prevent long flights from being used continuously for spam purposes.
The following actions are defined as spam fleet movements and are forbidden:
These behaviors are considered deliberate harassment.
In preparation for a genuine alliance attack, the first fleet may consist of a single ship, but additional fleet must be added to the ACS attack. If additional fleet is not added without valid reason, this movement may be treated as spam. Alliance attacks may be cancelled; however, repeated "send a single ship and never follow up" behavior is treated as spam.
It is strictly forbidden for multiple players to carry out long-duration fleet movements against a single player consecutively or during overlapping periods. This is treated as coordinated harassment aimed at restricting the target player's movements.
The following statements and similar ones are not taken into account: "I didn't know about my friend's attack," "I just happened to be there," "We weren't coordinated." Long flights sent against a target in quick succession are treated as a joint action.
The following situations are exempt from the long-duration fleet restriction:
These situations are completely exempt because they carry no risk of spam.
For spam or coordinated harassment behavior:
The length of the penalty is determined by the operator based on the nature of the fleet movement, how often it recurs, and the degree to which the target player was affected.
Any fleet movement not explicitly defined in this section but of a similar nature — intended to occupy, harass, or restrict a player's freedom of movement — may be evaluated and penalized as spam or coordinated harassment at the discretion of the game operators.
Players in the same alliance may not attack each other.
When a player leaves an alliance or is removed from it, a 48-hour neutrality period begins for harmful war interactions between them and their former alliance members.
During this 48-hour period:
This period begins the moment the player's ties to the alliance are severed. The purpose of this rule is to prevent gaining an unfair advantage by leaving the alliance in a deceptive manner.
In addition, a player who has left or been removed is also subject to a 3-day waiting period before they may join or found a new alliance. These two periods are independent: the 3 days apply to joining/founding a new alliance, while the 48 hours apply to the truce with former alliance members.
For players who violate the 48-hour neutrality period:
It does not matter whether the gain fully covers the loss — the attacking party is obligated to compensate the loss in full. The purpose of this section is to prevent alliance relationships from being abused to obtain a deceptive advantage.
A player may only, against players who are up to 7 times stronger or up to 7 times weaker than themselves:
This 7x rule always applies. Even if statistics have not yet been updated, the system calculates both players' real, current scores in the background the moment an attack is launched, and allows or blocks the attack accordingly.
Espionage is exempt from this rule — regardless of point difference, every player may spy on every other player.
The "7x point difference" is not calculated based on the overall total score — because total score is misleading: a player who invests heavily in buildings and research can have the same score as a fleet-focused player while representing a completely different threat level. Instead, each player's real combat power is calculated as a weighted sum of the following category scores:
The system calculates this weighted sum for both parties at the start of every fleet action and checks whether the difference is within the 7x range. Based on the result, it allows or blocks the attack.
Summary: the "weak/strong" badge on the Galaxy and Statistics pages refreshes at most every 30 minutes — it does not matter if it updates late. The state of a fleet movement is always decided using a real, freshly calculated power value computed separately at that moment.
Players sometimes send their fleets to another player's planet on a Hold (park) mission. In this case, two different players' power values exist at the target coordinates: the coordinate owner and the player who parked their fleet there. Because of this, the system does not consider only the planet owner's power when granting attack permission.
Whether an attack is permitted against a planet is determined based on the real power of all players present at those coordinates.
Why does this matter? When a very strong player parks a fleet on a weak player's planet, those coordinates do not become unattackable to other strong players. In other words, a weak player cannot be used as a protective shield against other strong players.
It is strictly forbidden for an account to obtain unfair resources, directly or indirectly, from an account that is much stronger than itself. For this reason, transport missions from a player at least 7 times stronger — whether within the same alliance or not — are automatically blocked by the system. Likewise, sending resources to an inactive account is also blocked.
Sending resources to a player of similar or lesser strength (e.g. alliance mutual aid, normal trade) is allowed — this rule exists solely to prevent a strong account from artificially growing a much weaker account (unfair pushing).
The following are considered unfair pushing, and even attempting them — regardless of whether the system blocks it — is itself a violation:
These behaviors fall directly into the pushing category and can result in the closure of one or all involved accounts.
Fleet Bashing / Push-Crash refers to any arrangement in which two or more players agree to crash their fleets into each other so that either party gains an unfair advantage through the resulting debris field.
This behavior is an offense and:
A malicious player may try to get you penalized and have your account closed. For your account's safety, you are advised to report any senseless, illogical, or suspicious attacks against your account to the game operators immediately.
Using any program bug in favor of a player, directly or indirectly, or deliberately failing to report it, is strictly forbidden.
When the use of a bug is detected:
If a bug is reported and not used for unfair gain, the player is rewarded based on the severity and importance of the bug.
The use of the following types of programs is strictly forbidden:
These types of programs fall directly under bot usage and are grounds for account closure.
The following applications are allowed, as long as they do not change in-game behavior or provide an advantage:
These applications are considered auxiliary tools as long as they do not perform additional actions against the server and do not change the game's mechanics.
Since detecting auto-refresh type tools is not technically possible, their use is not forbidden and no penalty is applied. However, to reduce the risk of abuse of automatic refreshing on critical screens such as radar, galaxy, empire, and espionage missions, the system may add extra verification at random times.
A player refreshing the page frequently or recording their screen is not forbidden. However, any program that automates a player's actions, decides on the player's behalf, or automatically sends commands to the server is forbidden.
A player refreshing the page more than usual or performing unusual radar monitoring on their own is not, by itself, grounds for penalty. However, if the requests made are severe enough to harm the server, this is grounds for account closure.
No player on OGameXL may make real-life threats against any player, staff member, operator, or representative.
All of the following behaviors are strictly forbidden:
Such behaviors are never tolerated within the game and result in severe sanctions.
Threats that are not real-life in nature and remain within the game world — for example statements like "I'll destroy your planet," "You're going to lose this war," "I'll crush your fleet," "I'll keep attacking you" — are treated as part of role-play (in-game competition) and do not require any penalty. These threats are directed at the game account, not the person behind it.
In-game threats can sometimes bother a player, but as long as they are not real-life in nature, no penalty is applied. In such cases, a player can use the "Block Messages" option found on the Statistics page or the player card to prevent that person from messaging them.
Real-life threats are a direct, severe violation. In this case:
No behavior that endangers the safety of the game environment is tolerated.
Respect is essential within the OGameXL community. Profanity, insults, spam, or advertising are not allowed under any circumstance.
This applies not only to private messages but to all visible areas, including planet/moon names, battle comments, and profile text.
The following content results in permanent account closure even on a single occurrence — these are red-line areas:
For insults, profanity, and severe tone that fall outside the race–religion–family scope, the following sanctions may be applied depending on the severity of the violation, whether it is repeated, and the player's general behavior history:
Game management reserves the right to apply one or more of these sanctions where it deems necessary.
The following situations do not fall under private message penalties:
No penalty is applied in these situations. A player can use the "Block Messages" feature to cut off communication with that person.
Because planet/moon names are visible to everyone: names that cast suspicion, use poor tone, or contain implications are subject to the penalties described in 8.1.2; red-line content results in permanent account closure.
Battle comments are an area open to all players, so you are strongly urged to be mindful of what you write.
As with private messages, red-line content in battle comments results in a permanent ban.
For battle comments containing insults, profanity, and severe tone that fall outside the race–religion–family scope, a warning, mute, or temporary removal for up to 14 days may be applied depending on the severity of the violation, whether it is repeated, and the player's general behavior history.
The following content is not considered a violation in battle comments and is not penalized, as long as it does not contain slang implications, insults, or profanity:
Such comments are a natural and accepted part of battle commentary. Not every uncomfortable statement warrants a penalty. If there is no insult, profanity, or red-line violation, no moderation action is taken. "Not liking the tone," "finding it provocative," or "being bothered" is not, by itself, grounds for a penalty. Players are not obligated to read or pay attention to battle comments — this area, by its competitive nature, can be blunt and cold.
That said, for players who consistently create an atmosphere of conflict, repeatedly skirt the line, or systematically use battle comments for provocative/disruptive purposes, game management reserves the right to temporarily or permanently restrict access to the battle comments area, even in the absence of an insult or red-line violation. This is not a penalty, but a preventive management measure.
OGameXL respects players' right to express their opinions. However, content in battle comments that makes claims of certainty without evidence and casts suspicion may first be removed, the player may be warned for repeat occurrences, and access to battle comments may be restricted if the behavior continues systematically and persistently. Not every comment involving suspicion is automatically grounds for a penalty; the evaluation takes into account the certainty of the statement, how often it recurs, and the player's general behavior profile.
It is not possible to create an exhaustive list of every type and severity of insult. For this reason, the final decision regarding the nature, repetition, and impact of an insult rests with the game operators. It is the operator's responsibility to apply similar penalties in similar situations.
OGameXL has a multinational player community. Players are completely free to use whichever language they wish among themselves within the game.
However, for the healthy management and moderation of the game, a common language is required in certain areas. The following areas must be monitorable by operators and management:
If communication in these areas is not in Turkish or English, providing the necessary support or evaluation may not be possible. This is because operators can only detect insults, identify cheating/pushing/bugs, understand player complaints, and apply penalties correctly by reading these languages. This requirement is not intended to discriminate; it is a rule required for community management and security.
Violation of OGameXL rules can result in penalties ranging from a warning to permanent account closure, depending on the nature of the violation, whether it is repeated, and the player's general behavior history.
The type and duration of the penalty are determined by the game operators based on the violation's impact on the game, whether it resulted in unfair gain, the extent to which it disrupted community order, and whether the violation was intentional.
The game operators are the authorized party for all communication in penalty and evaluation processes. The operators' decisions are binding for the security, fairness, and sustainability of the game.
The General Terms of Use of OGameXL are an integral part of these rules, and all provisions support one another.
In order to protect the security of the game, community order, or the game experience, the game operators reserve the right to remove or restrict the access of any player from their game account, website, forum, social media channels, or any other communication platform, without being obligated to explain their reasoning. This authority is necessary for the healthy operation of the game and the safety of the community.
An account may remain in vacation mode for a maximum of 30 days; after 30 days it is automatically removed from vacation mode.
If a universe account is not logged into at all for 75 days, the account in that universe may be permanently deleted. After 120 days, it is deleted automatically. A deleted account cannot be recovered, and no exceptions are made to this process.
The game operators reserve the right to change, update, or add new rules to OGameXL's rules at any time they deem necessary.
Rule changes are announced in-game at least 24 hours before they take effect. Even once announced, changed rules apply only to events that occur after the announcement date.
A change to any rule does not require penalties to be applied to actions that took place before the change. In evaluations of rule violations, the rule in effect on the date the action occurred is used as the basis.
