Patch notes

Everything that has changed in the game, newest first.

August 31, 2026
• Espionage reports now show real values throughout. Fleet and defense totals were displaying as 0 no matter what was actually stationed on the planet, the loot rate was always printed as 75% when it is really 50%, and the activity time, player class, alliance class and resource tooltip were placeholders rather than what the probe actually saw.

• Update notes are now split by date. The window in the bottom left shows the three most recent updates with each date foldable, and the full history has moved to its own page: ogamexl.com/changelog

• Dialog windows no longer run off the edge of the screen on phones.

• The alliance permission "See member online status" now applies to the chat panel on the right as well. A rank without that permission no longer sees who is online there, or in the conversation header. Players on your buddy list are unaffected, since that is a separate relationship both sides agreed to.

• Fixed the page buttons in the trash. Moving to the next page there was loading the next page of your normal inbox instead of the trash.

• Page buttons that cannot be used now appear faded, so it is clear when there is no next page rather than the button simply not responding.

• Clicking a player's rank in the galaxy now opens the highscore at that player and marks their row, instead of opening the list at your own position. The same applies to ranks opened from your buddy list, from search results, and to alliance rankings.
August 30, 2026
• Fixed issues with the message deletion system. Messages could not be deleted from the trash, and in some cases could be permanently deleted without first being moved to the trash. Messages now always move to the trash first and are permanently removed only after a second deletion.

• Favorite messages are now protected from "Delete all messages in this tab". Favorites in the trash also no longer count toward the favorite limit.

• Navigating between messages in the trash no longer returns you to the normal message list.

• Improved the loading performance of the messages page.

• The fleet return message is now clearer. It now correctly states that the fleet has returned after delivering its cargo.

• Added a new public game information page available in all 13 languages: ogamexl.com/about

• Fixed an Auctioneer issue where bids were displayed as 0, causing players to deposit more resources than necessary. "Your bid" now shows your total bid, while "Missing amount" shows only the remaining difference you need to cover.

• Fixed an issue where recyclers sent immediately after your own attack could arrive before the debris field was created and return empty. Recyclers now wait for the battle to finish before being processed.

• Fixed the country flag displayed for the Greek language.
August 26, 2026
• Chat windows now stay open when you move between pages. Previously any conversation you had open closed itself on every page change, even if you were in the middle of writing a reply.

• The contacts list at the bottom of the screen now remembers whether you left it open, instead of collapsing every time you change pages.

• The message and chat icons in the header have a new look, and now light up whenever you have something unread. Fixed a bug where the chat icon stopped glowing as soon as you changed pages or refreshed, even though the message was still unread.
August 25, 2026
• Countdown timers across the game (buildings, research, fleet movements, the events list, Empire, Combat Simulator, and the Auctioneer widget) now correctly display in your selected language. Previously several of these were stuck showing fixed time-unit abbreviations no matter what language you had chosen.

• Fixed a bug where alliance broadcast messages didn't appear in the sender's own inbox.

• Alliance chat now shows unread message notifications, just like private messages.

• Fixed a bug where chat messages never appeared in real time - you had to manually refresh the page to see new messages, even though the notification badge existed. Chat messages now update instantly.

• Fixed the same underlying issue for inbox notifications (battle reports, espionage reports, and system messages). Notifications about combat outcomes now also arrive in real time and correctly match the unread count shown on the notification badge. No need to refresh the page anymore.

• Fixed a bug where a ship group waiting in the repair queue at a debris field wouldn't automatically start repairing once the group ahead of it finished, leaving it locked indefinitely.

• Fixed a backend issue that could occasionally display an error page during fleet operations.

• Fixed the "ships needed" count shown for debris fields found on expeditions (position 16).

• Fixed a bug in Moon Destruction reports where resources that weren't actually transferred to the returning fleet were incorrectly shown as "loot".

• Fixed a bug where some mission names in the fleet events list and the Galaxy view's mission menu appeared in English regardless of the selected game language.

• Added a new vote site: Private-Server.ws. Voting there grants 5,000 Dark Matter, once per day.

• Fixed a bug in the Moon Destruction mission where stacking enough Deathstars could push the destruction chance to 100%, which structurally eliminated the risk of losing your Deathstar fleet (the loss roll was only ever checked on a failed attempt). Destruction chance is now capped at 85%, so a genuine chance of failure, and the accompanying risk, always remains no matter how large the attacking fleet is.
August 22, 2026
• Added Greek (Ελληνικά) language support.

• Fixed a bug where the E/I/N/S/V filter buttons in the Galaxy view didn't work.

• Added a new vote site: Serveur-Privé. The Dark Matter rewards for existing vote sites were also rebalanced to match each site's actual voting frequency: TopG now grants 2,500 Dark Matter every 12 hours, while the other sites continue to grant 5,000 Dark Matter once a day. Serveur-Privé grants 1,000 Dark Matter roughly every 90 to 100 minutes.

• Sensor Phalanx scan range now scales more aggressively with building level (x3.5). Level 3 now sees 28 systems (up from 8), level 5 sees 84 (up from 24), level 7 sees 168 (up from 48), and level 9 sees 280 systems (up from 80), covering the entire galaxy.

• Fixed a display bug where the footer navigation links (Server Settings, Help, Rules, etc.) failed to appear at all in several languages (German, Russian, Polish, Czech, Greek, Spanish).

• Fixed a bug where the weak/strong player status badges (shown in the Galaxy view and on the Statistics page) could display a misleading color that didn't match actual attack eligibility. A player could appear green ("safe") while still being a valid attack target, or the same player could show different colors on the Galaxy view versus the Statistics page. Both indicators now use the exact same 1/7-7x score-ratio threshold as the real attack eligibility check.

• General class now gets a permanent -20% production time bonus for ships and defense built in the shipyard.

• Fixed a bug where the Discoverer class's 75% loot bonus was being applied against every opponent, not just inactive players as intended. Attacking an active player as Discoverer now correctly yields the standard 50% loot; the 75% bonus only applies when the target has been inactive for 7+ days.

• You'll now receive an in-game message when a shop item (production booster or expedition/fleet slot bonus) has fully expired, so you never miss reactivating one. M.O.O.N.S. warm-ups now also send a message once the moon has actually formed.
August 20, 2026
• Fixed a bug where the "Expedition Fleet" button in the Galaxy view (bottom deep space row) had no effect when clicked, preventing players from managing and quick-sending expedition fleet templates from that screen. Players with an active Admiral can now save named templates (ship composition, speed, and holding time) and dispatch them directly from the Galaxy view without navigating to the Fleet page.
August 20, 2026
• You can now sign in or register with Google in one click.

• Fixed a bug where the "Always show events" option in Options → General Display wasn't being applied. This setting controls the small Events panel that lists your incoming and outgoing fleet movements; due to the bug, the panel always stayed hidden until manually opened. Now, choosing "above content" or "below content" keeps the panel visible on every page automatically, so you can see your fleet movements at a glance without clicking anything.
August 19, 2026
• Fixed a Directives bug: the "Send a fleet carrying resources" task (Chapter III, sending resources and an espionage probe to position 16) could never be completed, because position 16 is deep space and has no planet - so an Espionage mission could never actually target it. The task now correctly completes when a fleet carrying resources and an espionage probe is sent to position 16.
August 18, 2026
• The weak/strong attack protection range has been widened from 5x to 7x, giving you more valid targets and opponents to interact with.

• Attack eligibility is now calculated in real time the moment you launch a fleet action, using your actual current building, research, fleet, and defense strength - not an hourly snapshot. Galaxy and Statistics page badges still refresh every 30 minutes for display purposes only; the real decision is always based on live numbers. See the Rules page for the full calculation method.
August 17, 2026
• Fixed an issue in the Resource Trader and Auctioneer windows where performing an action (requesting a new exchange rate or placing a bid) would reload the entire page and close the window. Both windows now update in place without closing.
August 16, 2026
• Sensor Phalanx fix: a translation gap causing certain labels (mission name, fleet direction, arrival time, speed, ship list) to display in English has been fixed. The report now displays fully in your language.
August 16, 2026
• Defense repair balance update: the automatic defense repair rate has been reduced from 70% to 40%, and the Engineer officer's repair bonus has been reduced from +15 to +8 percentage points. This change was made to create a fairer balance between attacking and defending.
