Dear Emperors,
A new feature has been added to OGameXL: the Friend Code. From now on, every player has a personal code. Give it to a friend who is new to OGameXL, and you earn Dark Matter as they progress: a share of every Dark Matter package they buy, plus a reward each time they reach a new points tier.
This post covers everything: where to find your code, how your friend enters it, how the rewards work, and the rules that keep the system fair for everyone.

1. WHERE TO FIND YOUR CODE
Open Options in the top menu and switch to the Extended tab. The first section there is Friend Code.
• Your code: six letters and numbers that belong only to you. Copy puts it on your clipboard, ready to paste into a chat or a message.
• Invitees: how many players have entered your code.
• Invites left this month: how many more new players can still use your code in the current 30 days (see the rules below).
• Total earned: all the Dark Matter your code has brought you so far.
• The four buttons open a window with all the details, explained in section 4.
2. HOW YOUR FRIEND ENTERS IT
Your friend registers a new account as usual, then opens Options > Extended. During the first 7 days of their account, a green box at the top asks "Did a friend invite you?":
They type your code, click Confirm code, and that is it:
Good to know:
• A code can be entered only once and cannot be changed afterwards, so make sure your friend types yours.
• Only accounts that are new to the game can enter a code, within the first 7 days of the account. Accounts that already existed before Friend Codes were introduced cannot be linked.
• Upper or lower case does not matter, and spaces or dashes are ignored.
• The welcome message every new commander receives also points to this box, so your friend will find it easily.
• Your friend gets a code of their own right away, so they can start inviting their friends too.
3. YOUR REWARDS
Purchase share: 20%
Whenever a player you invited buys a Dark Matter package, 20% of the Dark Matter in that package is added to your account at the same moment. No points are needed for this: it starts with their very first purchase. It works the same way for every package, whichever payment method your friend uses.
Event bonuses on the package (for example a "+X% Dark Matter" event) are not included: the share is taken from the package itself.
Example: your friend buys the 4,560,000 Dark Matter package, and 912,000 Dark Matter lands in your account.
Tier rewards
Each time a player you invited crosses one of these points thresholds for the first time, you receive that tier's reward. Tiers are counted separately for every friend you invite.
• Tier 1 (100,000,000 points): 250,000 Dark Matter
• Tier 2 (150,000,000 points): 250,000 Dark Matter
• Tier 3 (200,000,000 points): 300,000 Dark Matter
• Tier 4 (300,000,000 points): 350,000 Dark Matter
• Tier 5 (400,000,000 points): 400,000 Dark Matter
• Tier 6 (500,000,000 points): 450,000 Dark Matter
• Tier 7 (750,000,000 points): 500,000 Dark Matter
• Tier 8 (1,000,000,000 points): 600,000 Dark Matter
• Tier 9 (1,500,000,000 points): 700,000 Dark Matter

A friend who climbs all the way to Tier 15 brings you 12,800,000 Dark Matter from tiers alone, plus the purchase share.
• Points are checked every time the highscore is updated, which happens every 30 minutes.
• If your friend jumps several tiers at once, you receive every one of them.
• A tier reward is never taken back, even if your friend's points drop later, for example after losing a fleet.
4. KEEPING TRACK OF YOUR FRIENDS
The four buttons in the Friend Code section open this window. The pictures below show an example account.
My Invitees lists every player who entered your code: their points, the tier they reached, a progress bar towards the next tier, and how much each of them has earned you, split into tier rewards and purchase share.
A friend marked ACTIVE is earning you tier rewards. STOPPED means tier rewards from that friend have ended because of the resource and network rule (see section 6). The purchase share still continues for them.
Reward Tiers shows the full ladder. Pick a friend from the list at the top to see which tiers you have already received and how many points they need for the next one.
Earnings History lists every reward with its date, newest first.
Rules repeats the rules of this post inside the game, so you can check them any time.
5. MESSAGES
You get a message in Messages > System when a friend enters your code, for every tier reward, for every purchase share, and if tier rewards from a friend stop.

• A code can be used by at most 5 new players within 30 days.
• Rewards only come from players you invited directly. The players your friends invite earn rewards for your friends, not for you.
• If resources move between you and a player you invited (transport, attack or moon destruction missions), or if the two of you connect from the same network, tier rewards from that player stop for good. The 20% purchase share continues. Help your friends with advice and good company, not with resources.
• A code cannot be used by a player who connects from the same network as the code's owner.
• Inviting your own second account violates the multi-account rule. In accordance with the rules, both accounts will be banned.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My friend already has an account. Can they still enter my code?
Only if their account is less than 7 days old and was created after Friend Codes were introduced.
My friend typed the wrong code. Can it be changed?
No. A code can be entered only once, so double check it before confirming.
Does my friend get less Dark Matter because of me?
No. Everything you earn is extra. Your friend keeps every reward and every package they buy in full.
My friend and I play from the same home. Can we use a Friend Code?
No. Accounts that connect from the same network cannot be linked with a Friend Code. This keeps the system safe from second accounts.
How do I invite someone?
Copy your code and send it to your friend together with a link to ogamexl.com. Once they have registered, they enter it in Options > Extended.
